Jessica was rescued in the floods of February 2000 as a baby of less than 24 hours old. Shirley has raised her as one of her own ever since. Jessica loves her staple diet of 20 Litres of diluted Puro Coffee per day and a bag or two of sweet potatoes. This Hippo is a beautiful Wild creature that CHOOSES to live out her life with her adopted family. At no time is she put in a cage, fenced in or stopped in any way from leaving what she knows as home to follow the truly wild Hippo friends who come to visit. If you are lucky enough to be travelling anywhere near Hoedspruit in Mpumalanga, South Africa, please treat yourself to a visit with Jessica.
